Q: Why build a Scooter's Jungle rather than start my own?
A: Creating your own business without experience or support is a complicated and risky endeavor - ask a banker! At Scooter's Jungle, the business systems and operating models have already been created and proven for you.
Q: Will I personally manage my Scooter's Jungle party center?
A: The most successful franchisees are deeply involved in their business and the first year of daily operations should be managed by you. Over time, a Jungle University-certified manager can oversee daily operations.
Q: How will I be trained?
A: Each new franchise owner and store manager will attend Jungle University, our ten-day interactive training program held in Aliso Viejo, California. Consisting of both hands-on and classroom instruction, Jungle University will fully equip you to smoothly operate your Scooter's Jungle. We also visit your store 60-90 days after opening to provide two additional days of training and support.
Q: What initial support will I receive?
A: Our team will guide you during the development phase of your franchise with site selection, store layout and design, equipment specification, product procurement and management training.
Q: What about on-going services?
A: You will benefit from on-going marketing programs, operational assistance and personal visits by our highly qualified franchise business consultants.
Q: How much is the franchise fee?
A: From now until April 15, 2011, the initial franchisee fee is $25,000. After that time, it will return to the normal rate of $40,000.
Q: How much are the royalty and advertising fees?
A: Both the royalty and advertising fees are paid weekly. Advertising fees are the greater of 1% of gross sales or $125. Royalties are as follows:
Up to $600,000 annual gross sales = 6%
$600,001 to $1 million annual gross sales = 5.5%
$1 million+ annual gross sales = 5%
Q: Is the software designed for this industry?
A: Yes. Scooter's Jungle uses a proprietary point-of-sale (POS) and software system allowing for on-line booking, invitations and thank you cards as well as the maintenance of each event, inventory tracking, bookkeeping, purchasing, payroll, management reporting and more. You will be trained to operate the POS system and have support available 24/7.
Q: How do I select the right site?
A: With the assistance of a qualified commercial real estate agent, you will identify potential locations. We will review potential locations using our site selection criteria and provide feedback regarding the potential sites.
Q: What are the financial requirements for opening a Scooter's Jungle?
A: Adequate capital is critical for your success. We require a minimum net worth of $1,000,000 and liquidity of $200,000.
Q: How much does it cost to open a Scooter's Jungle?
A: The estimated initial investment ranges from $514,200 to $729,600 depending primarily on the size and location of the facility and other building variables.
Q: How long does it take to get my Scooter's Jungle up and running?
A: The length of time varies depending upon the municipality's permitting requirements. Once permits are secured, most Scooter's Jungle entertainment centers are open for parties within three months.
Q: Do I get a protected area? How close will the nearest Scooter's Jungle be located?
A: Yes. While each geography varies, the protected territory is based upon a population base of 150,000 people.
Q: How much money can I make owning a Scooter's Jungle?
A: Federal and state laws prohibit any franchisor from providing projected earnings figures. We have provided gross sales figures within our franchise disclosure document (FDD) which is emailed upon completion of your franchisee application.
